What is there to say about Black Lightning? He is without a doubt an AON original. Former AON Western PA Champion, 814 Champion, TV Champion, Tag Team Champion. The list of accomplishments are endless. Sometimes he was the most popular, others the most hated, but he was always respected. Inside and outside the ring, known for his high-flying and fast style of wrestling. He was often referred to as Black Mamba by AON Play-by-Play announcer TV's Mike Edwards. Lighting was a Rundown favorite. You knew anytime you saw Black Lightning on the Rundown, it was must see! With the Original AON folding in the summer of 2012, Black Lightning took a few years off from the ring. In 2016 he debuted in Phoenix Pro Wrestling and went on to win the Legacy Championship on a few occasions. Sadly in 2017, at the height of his title run, Black Lightning fell ill and the title had to be forfeited. Doctors told Black Lightning he would never wrestle again. When AON relaunched in 2019, Black Lightning made his debut behind the announce table. Giving his insight, passion and energy to the commentary team at ringside. You could see the fire in his eyes. The urge to return to the ring was rea, but he made himself at home behind the mic. In November 2021 Black Lightning was inducted into the inaugural class of the AON Hall of Fame. Black Lightning will forever be remembered for all his contributions to AON and professional wrestling in the Johnstown area. In June of 2022, in front of over 500 fans at the War Memorial, Black Lightning's dream came true. He returned to the ring, beat Randal Fareway, and proved anyone who doubted him wrong. With all of his accomplishments, it is only fitting that Black Lightning is in the AON Hall of Fame. He has truly earned it.
Scott Sirko was an AON referee for just a brief amount of time during the early days, but his infectious attitude and comical yelling of a 2 count gave so many a smile from the fans to the locker room.
Scott was a beam of positivity even on the darkest of days. AON's early days wouldn't have been as bright as they were without him and that Scotty smile.
Tragically we lost Scotty suddenly and he never got to see what an impact his tenure had on AON and it's fans. We here in AON are proud to welcome Scott into the inaugural class of the AON Hall of Fame.
The Hassle Bros. were a cornerstone of AON Prime and it's tag team division. From AON's beginning, these two brothers were fierce competitors in the squared circle. Even when they were at odds with each other, as Jeremy turned his back on his brother and joined The Devious Empire, these two never backed down from a fight. Eventually reuniting, they took on all comers no matter the odds. The Hassle Bros. will always be fan favorites (and X-man's as well) and well deserving of being in the inaugural class of the AON Hall of Fame.
A multiple time Hall of Famers, Nikolai Volkoff became a part of AON, not only as a part of the roster, but as a friend, mentor, trainer, and inspiration to everyone involved. Nikolai brought his years of experience to AON originally as a one-time appearance. But after a visit to his home in Maryland, he quickly became a member of the AON family. Nikolai spent hours working with everyone both in the ring, behind the microphone, and backstage sharing his wisdom with anyone who needed it.
As part of the roster, Nikolai worked with a returning Israel Sharif-Phakur (ISP) bringing the age-old wrestling storyline of a heroic immigrant taking on a vile foreigner. The feud created life-long memories to AON fans and is still talked about to this day. Nikolai also brought his unique sense of humor to the locker room with countless stories of his travels with the Iron Sheik, as well as other WWE superstars. Card tricks were another staple of Nikolai while backstage that added a sense of family to the company.
There was no doubt that Nikolai Volkoff would be the inaugural celebrity inducted into the AON Hall of Fame as he is sorely missed and fondly remembered.
